According to Malaysian Insider (http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/shahidan-wants-facebook-banned-cites-national-security/), Facebook might be banned in Malaysia. The popular social networking sites which gained billions of users supports’ might be banned! The sites where most people would spend much time there would have to bid farewell to their BELOVED FACEBOOK! What else would you need to say??

Back then, I was a loyal Friendster user and honestly, I do not fancy Facebook. Though my friends kept recommending me to use Facebook, still I held on to my principle. However, things changed! Once I stepped in college, Facebook became the choice there, so, I, got myself a Facebook account. It has been 3 years and truly, I get connected with my long lost friends, upcoming events and lots more. Till up to date, I have 1093 friends in the list!
Facebook is a no harm site, in my opinion. It is somehow like “Love is blind”. To me, I never agree with that quotation. I always believe that love is not blind but LOVERS are blind. Same goes to Facebook. It is the pure usage which progress along with the IT and the development of technology but the culprits are always the USERS. People have misused the usage of Facebook which eventually threatens the nation’s security.

“If the website content poses a threat to national security and insults Islam, then it is unnecessary to have Facebook", quoted Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim. For this, I truly disagree with the banning of Facebook. Although Facebook might become the platform for people to transmit messages and etc, still, it is unfair for the government to ban them. Instead of banning it, I think that government should educate people on the usage of IT. Most public listed companies use Facebook to spread the updates and the current status to their fans such as Google. Keeping the public informed is the core and a way to keep us up to date. I believe that people from all stages of life would need this information including the media. When I was an intern and I was assigned to do some research, some of the information could only be accessed through Facebook. Even the original site does not provide much information on that. For example, info on Apa – Apa Aje programme in TV3.
Hence, if the site is banned, where do people posses all this information?? After all, how many sites can you banned?? Are you going to ban WIKILEAKS too for sharing the true story to the public??? Do you want the citizens to be under-educated or a simple idiom of “Katak di Bawah Tempurung”??
It’s really a key topic to be discussed in Malaysia. I wouldn’t want Facebook to be banned as I believe with Facebook, we can move further. We can move on par with those developing countries, receive the updates on our social network, and I believe that there are more for us to explore. I still think that Malaysia is still not ready to be independent like China in banning the sites.
Who knows Facebook can become the second GOOGLE??
*Hmmm....

first of all, you have no idea what government has been thinking cause you are not in their shoes. just like what you have mentioned earlier only leader will understand leader. are you a politician?
and what do you mean by under educated? without facebook we are under educated? i don't think so. fb is a "social networking" which is not an education system for human.
Dear Anonymous,
Seems like you wish that Facebook is banned in Malaysia. First of all, all this are based on my opinions!
Secondly, true enough that leader will only understand leader. This is because leaders exist everywhere, regardless on what industry you are in and etc. But for politicians, their motive and aim are practically the same. All working for the country. Due to this, they share their thoughts, events, ideas, and etc to the citizens so that everyone understand them. Unlike leaders, they hardly share it out!
(Btw, its my opinion again)
Thirdly, without Facebook, we are under educated?? Hmm..I think you have misinterpreted or misjudged my statement. Kindly go through the fifth paragraph again whereby I did not said that Facebook caused us to be undereducated.
Hope everything clarifies! Anyhow, I love your comment so much. Truly appreciate with all this! Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day
! Cheers and smile always :)
leader is influencing your followers to go to a place that all of you wanted to go. i do not think leader cannot share their thoughts to the members. the question is, are you leading a team of followers or leaders?
Dear Anonymous,
Well, perhaps I have mislead you. Leaders hardly share their thoughts out because people understand them. They are not at the same shoes with them. For example, a gal who is being raped! Regardless how pity we are towards them, we still couldn't understand the trauma that they have gone through unless you are also the victim of the rapist.
But for politicians, they would share it out because the citizens are the one to manipulate and decide which politician could have better lead in the country. That is why propoganda on certain parties happen! So, it goes well with your sentence that
"leader is influencing your followers to go to a place that all of you wanted to go".
That is what politicians do, this is what my thoughts are.
On regards to your next statement, "the question is, are you leading a team of followers or leaders?", this depends on individual.
Well, for this, its all just based on my opinions. You might agree or disagree with it, after all, this shows the uniqueness of the person. Once again, thanks for the feedback^^
Il semble que vous soyez un expert dans ce domaine, vos remarques sont tres interessantes, merci.
