Uncle Choon's Dinner??

Hot mee suits well for dinner especially during the rainy season! Wanted to try something new?? Something fabulous beside Bak Kut Teh in Klang?? and here, let me present to you the BEST CHI HUN KENG(As a food lover's opinion! Try this out1) !! I doubt whether you heard of this mee but trust me, you will definitely enjoy them.
The transparent, jelly mee with the slimy sauce made the mee outstanding. With the hot spices that cooked together with taugeh, it turned the CHI HUN KENG to be delicioux! Brief intro - For Hokkien, we called this as Chi Hun Keng..Some chefs presented them with sauce and some cooked without the sauce.
Fried Rice which always filled a person's tummy. Fragnant smell with proper ingredients could turn the normal white rice to something special! Simple is always the best.
My younger bro's favorite! Ying Yong!! With the mixture of fried dried mi hun and fried kuew teow, the ying yong is formed! With the tapioca starch, fresh meats and some vegetables that outstand the dish, it is definitely a must try dish when you are here!

Lastly, let me present to you, the signature dish for all Hokkiens! THE HOKKIEN MEE!! The yellow mee which coated with dark sauce and slimy would always be the Hokkiens favourite! Dad loves this dish muchie!

For all the dishes that were presented, I still love my CHI HUN KENG!1 My all time favourites! Though the dish wasn't that bad, but, the portion of it was pretty small.. For those who have a big appetite, I believe that you need to consume more of it! That is why they offered in three sizes whether you want it SMall, Medium or BIG!! Try this out in Klang - Teluk Pulai!

Bak Kut Teh for DINNER???

Usually, I will go for Bak Kut Teh session for my breakfast. Somehow, the angels for today led my family to try them out for dinner after we went round and round, realizing that most restaurants were pretty occupied! Finally, we landed to this Bak Kut Teh shop which always be the number 1 choice for my family.
Surprisingly, there were so many people in the shop too. However, services were pretty good as we did not need to wait for a long time. Within seconds, 2 big bowls of "porkie" which served 6 tummies were served on our table.
I am a chilli freak! Bak Kut Teh taste better and *exciting* when you eat them with this green chillies!

Rice became tastier with the crispy, golden brown onions!
Look at the first bowl of our Bak Kut Teh! Its different compared to the morning version. At night, there were tangy, white fish balls to go well with this. Not only that, there were plenty of mushroom which comes from different "species", though they are from the same umbrella. This time, there were no vegetables but still, it tempted me much! It tasted better, I guess. Perhaps, due to my love on Fish Balls which eventually created some personal bias :)
The second pot of our *Porkie* The sizzling, hot soup had really caught our attention! Nice, Nice and Nice!
The amount of Bak Kut Teh for 6 pax and it really made our day! Satisfied and it's sufficient. Time flied very quickly especially when food was the focus of the day. Within half an hour, our plates were merely empty and then, the chit chat session began. Seems that, after eating, people are much energetic to share and talk!
We were served with *Yau Char Kuey* too! Yum! Yum!
Look at the portion in my plate! He...:)

Previously, I would think that it is weird to eat Bak Kut Teh for dinner. Somehow, today's meal had really changed my mind. I wouldn't mind to dine in for Bak Kut Teh though the sun has rested well. To try this out, the shop is situated at Klang. (Opposite Maybank - somehow, it is near to the new roundabout in Klang) You can try the "Dry Bak Kut Teh" too with a pretty reasonable price.

RM 8.50 - 1 pax for wet BKT
RM 9.50 - 1 pax for dry BKT
(So, its up to you on how many pax you order)

Try this out!
Yum Yum!!

Ps: Guess that the saliva of the bf is flowing out! hehe :)

-Will Malaysia ban Facebook?-

According to Malaysian Insider (http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/shahidan-wants-facebook-banned-cites-national-security/), Facebook might be banned in Malaysia. The popular social networking sites which gained billions of users supports’ might be banned! The sites where most people would spend much time there would have to bid farewell to their BELOVED FACEBOOK! What else would you need to say??

Back then, I was a loyal Friendster user and honestly, I do not fancy Facebook. Though my friends kept recommending me to use Facebook, still I held on to my principle. However, things changed! Once I stepped in college, Facebook became the choice there, so, I, got myself a Facebook account. It has been 3 years and truly, I get connected with my long lost friends, upcoming events and lots more. Till up to date, I have 1093 friends in the list!

Facebook is a no harm site, in my opinion. It is somehow like “Love is blind”. To me, I never agree with that quotation. I always believe that love is not blind but LOVERS are blind. Same goes to Facebook. It is the pure usage which progress along with the IT and the development of technology but the culprits are always the USERS. People have misused the usage of Facebook which eventually threatens the nation’s security.

“If the website content poses a threat to national security and insults Islam, then it is unnecessary to have Facebook", quoted Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim. For this, I truly disagree with the banning of Facebook. Although Facebook might become the platform for people to transmit messages and etc, still, it is unfair for the government to ban them. Instead of banning it, I think that government should educate people on the usage of IT. Most public listed companies use Facebook to spread the updates and the current status to their fans such as Google. Keeping the public informed is the core and a way to keep us up to date. I believe that people from all stages of life would need this information including the media. When I was an intern and I was assigned to do some research, some of the information could only be accessed through Facebook. Even the original site does not provide much information on that. For example, info on Apa – Apa Aje programme in TV3.

Hence, if the site is banned, where do people posses all this information?? After all, how many sites can you banned?? Are you going to ban WIKILEAKS too for sharing the true story to the public??? Do you want the citizens to be under-educated or a simple idiom of “Katak di Bawah Tempurung”??

It’s really a key topic to be discussed in Malaysia. I wouldn’t want Facebook to be banned as I believe with Facebook, we can move further. We can move on par with those developing countries, receive the updates on our social network, and I believe that there are more for us to explore. I still think that Malaysia is still not ready to be independent like China in banning the sites.

Who knows Facebook can become the second GOOGLE??

*Hmmm....

Grand Opening of Tony Roma's at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng!

Time flies and two days before my internship ends, I witnessed and participated at the latest Tony Roma’s outlet opening. On the 9th December 2010, it was the grand opening of Tony Roma’s at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. In conjunction to this, “Tony’s Day Party” was hosted and dedicated to all Tony’s from all stages of life to join us.

Title: The briefing that took place before the show begins

20 lucky shortlisted Tony’s were put through some exciting games whereby they challenged one another to win the ultimate prize. In fact, the winner would won a lifetime supply of Tony Roma’s. How nice it is, right?? Sad to say, my name is not any of the pronunciation with Tony. Unless I come out with a name of “SHirTOny”..Sounds nice??

Title: Writers started to flow in.

Tony’s Day Party became much merrier with the presence of the local actresses, Chelsia Ng and the emcee for that night was no other than the bubbly celebrity, Azura Zainal.

Title: The Emcee of tonight

In fact, I was assigned to usher the media, assist in game and etc. Somehow, some statements from the Group CEO and the co-founder of Grandpolitan Sdn Bhd caught my attention. He signed an agreement whereby he had to open 4 outlets over the 4 years. However, what made this opening a special ones was they were actually opening the fifth outlet – Tony Roma’s at Yap Kwan Seng in a little over 4 years. Not to forget, there is another outlet which is going to be open soon in One Mount Kiara. Well, this shows how much Grandpolitan company has been progressing over this 4 years. As an appreciation, Mr George Ang was presented with two awards in conjunction with the outlet opening in Yap Kwan Seng and the coming soon outlet in One Mont Kiara.

Title: The man of Tony Roma's with 2 awards, The man with celebs

To celebrate Tony’s Party with thrill, joy and unforgettable memories, all the guests were treated with Tony Roma’s signature dishes and it’s all up to the guests to choose, according to your liking. To add the spices of the day, guests are treated with bottomless drinks for Fruit Punch and Carlsberg!

Title: The energetic team that turned the event to a big success!

Things to add on, Tony Roma’s is famous with ribs and I believe it is a good place to hang out with great food and great company especially the new outlet in Yap Kwan Seng! I seriously impress with it and personally, I love the island bar. For those who prefer the calming atmosphere, they can escaped to the corners of the restaurant outside meanwhile for those who love party, they can chilled out at the island bar.

Title: The GO Commers! Go, GO, GO!!

Once everything ended, the GO Commers never miss out the opportunity to take some good shot at the glamour wall. That was the best gift that I ever had! Once we had filled our tummy, we headed to Delicious to have a farewell for me. Thanks to my supervisor for everything!!

Title: Liza and Vanessa (My supervisor)!

Signing off,

Shirley

-Christmas with STARBUCKS-

Its the 5th of December 2010. In other words, 20 more days for Christmas to come and this year, I am really looking forward for it. Thinking about my past, last year, I celebrated my Christmas in Singapore with my fellow friends. However, this year...Hmm...we shall see what God has planned for me!

Indeed, 4 more days and I will have to say bye bye to my company and tentatively, I have few programs that are lining up before I officially heading back to my college. Outing with my Leos, camps, date with the bf (missing him loads) are a total activities that take up my time. What about myself??

Hmm..I want shopping which I have not done any shopping spree for months, ever since Internship begins..I want to go to Green Box to scream my lungs out..I want to watch all my movies which are piling up from time to time...I want to read the unfinished books before I head back to assignments and test..I need to learn some baking skills...I want to do lots of things in such a short time frame...grh!! Can I have more time???
p/s:My new short hair!

Therefore, for this Christmas, I am getting myself...STARBUCKS Coffee!!!! With the 2 featured Christmas drink that are Toffee Nut Frappuccino and Pepper Mint Frappuccino, this would make our day with a big smile. So, in the month of December especially 25th of December 2010, stay tune with STARBUCKS!!! Grab yourself a cup of it and make this the most memorable day of yours. Only with STARBUCKS!

Cheers!
With that, good night!

SEAMASTER IS GIVING PAINTS AWAY, FOR FREE!!!

SEAMASTER gave away 500,000 cans of 5 litres paint to the public!!!! The "gave away" has started from yesterday and it would last to tomorrow. In fact, I wasn't aware of this until my mum got us to go JJ with her vouchers. Since I couldn't sleep well yesterday, I woke up super early and followed them to the morning market before headed to JJ.
It was 10am and the queue in the Jusco was super long. I even heard from the helpers that some people even slept there and some were there since 8am. They waited for the free 5 litres paint. I was pretty shocked to see the long queue and unconsciously, I joined the line though I did not have the voucher. Being the typical "aunty" habit in me, all this promotions and gifts definitely attract me. Looking at the sincerity in us to queue in such a long line, they gave us another 2 vouchers (my sister and I).
Not to say that I am being a typical aunty, but, with a 5 litre can of paint, you could definitely save nearly RM 100. Though its not much, yet I felt so happy when I joined the queue and get this 5 litre of paint. Haha..If the bf is here with me, I would definitely get him to join me in this "challenging aunty game". Wonder would he join the aunty game, right?? Haha..After all, looking at the economy of the world, it is better for us to be thrifty and do not spend on unnecessary things, right?? Petrol price increase, sugar price increase and sooner or later, some of the needed items in life would increase too. Only one thing that would remains and it is none other than SAlAry. So, no choice la..Have to be aunty, no matter what!!
Good experience to expose to this free gift event and a very good strategy marketing skills from SEAMASTER. They might look as if they are losing money in distributing the paint for free. However, to look in a deeper view, it is actually the profit earning strategy. I believe the business students would agree with me..

P/s: Many things coming ahead!!

Cheers!!
