Do you enjoy the Chinese New Year this time? The year of rabbit with the theme of TOGETHER has come about especially in bonding with friends and family. In some point, it is good as it places most individuals at the heart of the heaven and not neglecting their loved ones. Therefore, this time around, my family had initiated to tour around in the Langkawi Island since the holiday was pretty short.
Surprisingly, the small little island that is situated in Kedah was loaded and occupied with tons of people regardless locals or foreigners. Even the local commented that, this was the most tourists in Langkawi for years and never before, they experienced it. I presumed most hotels and motels were fully booked and there weren’t cars to be rented out off. Lady luck was with us that we managed to grab the last two rooms in the Aseania resort, Pulau Cenang and the last 2 cars from 2 different dealers. However, sacrifice is always needed and that’s where the first day of our holiday gone. Ample time had taken for all this hassles due to the sudden, last minute trip to Langkawi Island. It was fun in a way that everything you do was so much instant and it’s a very challenging, adventurous trip.
Ps: The leisure walk in Cenang Beach!
On the second day, the 9 of us were enthusiastic to hop on the Langkawi Cable car. After the short leisure walk at the Pulau Cenang beach, we drove all the way to that respective destination and it came to the point where we received disappointment. The station was jam-packed with tons of people and in order for us to hop in, we had to wait for nearly an hour to two. The waiting time might prolong to late evening. Not only that, weather was scorching and it burnt us deeply that my brother suggested us to go for a fish spa session in Oriental Village. Most of them went for it except for my younger siblings and I. After loitering around that area for quite some time, we headed to the jetty point to buy our ferry ticket for the next day. Gracious! Some of the ferry company provided me with a bad news stating that its “SOLD OFF!” Can you imagine how crazy the Chinese New Year season in Langkawi? Quickly slipped off and went to another company. Thank God, we managed to grab the final 9 ferry tickets back to Kuala Perlis. Truly appreciate with the lady luck that accompanied us. As for those who queued after me, they had no choice but to go back on Monday. Some did sacrifice and gone back on the Saturday itself.
Ps: The only place that we went for the 3days and 2 nights trip - Eagle Square. For all picture I took, I loved this the most because of the eagle. Someone told me that he loved eagle so much due to the hidden meaning behind it and thats the reason I took this! *Hope you read this*
No doubt to say, due to the unexpected number of tourists in Langkawi island, we did not managed to play around and tour around to places like waterfall, cable car, Mahsuri tomb and others. But what we have done for our 3 days 2 nights trip was to shop and shop till we drop! I actually shopped and hunt for chocolates and liquors from one shop to another and from one town to another town. It was so tempting to see so much of chocolates that were available there. Yet, with the limited human resources, we couldn’t buy much too.
Somehow, the memory in Langkawi Island was worthwhile especially with the companion of family and my brother’s friends. It really serves the purpose of Chinese New Year that is reunion and bonding with your loved ones. It’s not about the red packets that you received, the cookies that you get to eat, a long holiday for you, but spending the endless time with family is truly awesome. It rocks and at the same time, it hurts especially when you have to sit in the car for more than 12 hours, on the way back to home! :)
Signing off,
Shirley!
